| Istana Jahar was built in 7887 during the reign of Sultan Muhammas II as a gift to HRH Long Kundur who was known as Raja Bendahara. Later , in 1889 Raja Bendahara succeeded the throne and became Sultan Muhammad III. The palace got its name "Istana Jahar" from the Jahar trees that grow within the palace compounds | The palace was the royal residence for several sultans. Now, it has been converted into Muzium Adat Istiadat Diraja Kelantan or the Royal Museum in njuly 1992, preserving its original architecture. |
